About Aintree Racecourse

Aintree Racecourse is one of the most iconic racecourses in England, located on the outskirts of Liverpool. It has been a venue for horse racing since 1829 and is home to some of the most prestigious jumps races in Britain. Aintree Racecourse features three racetracks.

The Grand National course covers 2 miles 2 furlongs and features 16 fences. The Hurdles course was originally used for flat racing and is the oldest track at Aintree racecourse, covering 1 mile 3 furlongs and featuring six flights of hurdles. The Mildmay Course covers 1 mile 4 furlongs and features eight birch fences or six hurdles per circuit.

The Aintree Festival is the premier race meeting held at the racecourse and takes place every April with three days of adrenaline-filled racing. The highlight is the Grand National Steeplechase, the world’s longest and toughest National Hunt chase.
