How do accumulator bets work?

An accumulator bet is a single bet placed on two or more bets in separate betting markets.

A simple way of visualizing how an acca bet works is the following example of a treble:

  1. A punter makes three selections in three different events
  2. The punter then selects the 'treble' option on the online betting slip and enters the stake they want to bet, for example £1
  3. £1 is then bet on the first selection to compete. If this selection loses the entire bet loses. If the bet wins, the stake and winnings from that bet are placed on the second selection.
  4. If the second selection loses, the overall bet loses. If it wins, the total return on the bet is wagered on the third selection.
  5. If the third selection loses the overall bet loses. If the third selection wins, the total return on the third selection is paid out to the punter.
