2024 Juddmonte International Stakes Preview
City Of Troy towers above the rest of the field in the 2024 Juddmonte International. After an indifferent start to the season in the 2,000 Guineas he found his rhythm over middle distance Group 1s, winning the Epsom Derby and Eclipse Stakes. At 11/8 he offers reasonable value.
Calandagan is priced as his main adversary. He’s won two French Group 3s this season, and appears to be a genuine stayer, winning the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot in June by 6 lengths. He does pose a threat to City Of Troy and offers great each-way value at 7/1.
The best value bet in this field is Bluestocking. He was a winner in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes in Ireland in June, and took second place in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in July. Given that 1 mile 2 furlongs is his preferred distance, he looks worth a punt a 10/1.
