2024 Great Voltigeur Stakes Preview
A fairly even field will line up for the 2024 Great Voltigeur Stakes, with Irish Derby winner, Los Angeles, starting the race as favourite. At 7/4 he’s fairly priced.
King’s Gambit is priced second in the betting markets, thanks to consecutive second place finishes in a Group 3 and a Group 2. Those performances don’t suggest he has the beating of the Irish Derby winner, and at 15/8 he offers little value.
Illinois finished second in a French Group 1 on his last outing, which followed on a win in the Group 2 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot a month earlier. At 13/2 he’s the best value bet in the field, priced high enough to back each-way.
