About the Acomb Stakes
Named after the village of Acomb, just north of York racecourse, the Acomb Stakes has been contested since 1986. The race was promoted to Listed status in 1998 before its promotion to Group 3 level in 2006. A number of Acomb Stakes entries have graduated to bigger things, with a number of winners going on to win the 2,000 Guineas.

As with any juvenile race, the Acomb Stakes is tough to predict due to the combination of short form records for the entries as well as the relatively short race distance.
