About the Richmond Stakes
The Richmond Stakes is a juvenile sprint race established in 1877, named after the Duke of Richmond, owner of Goodwood Racecourse. The race carries Group 2 status and can attract top quality juvenile colts, with a number of these having gone on to win major Group 1 titles in their 3-year-old seasons.
Richmond Stakes Betting
The Richmond Stakes takes place late enough in the flat season to provide useful form information on the competing juveniles. This is reflected in the performance of the betting markets, with the antepost favourite winning on a consistent basis, with a notable shortage of wins for horses priced over 10/1.
