The Betfred Park Stakes is a Group 2 race for horses aged three or older. The race is run over a distance of 7 furlongs at the St Leger Festival.
2024 Park Stakes Preview
Kinross finds himself the favourite for the Park Stakes despite an indifferent season where he has failed to build on his two Group 2 wins last season. There is no reason to expect a reversal of the form that saw him finish 3rd when trying to retain the Lennox Stakes in his last race. At 9/4 he’s underpriced.
Lead Artist won a Group 3 at Glorious Goodwood in August and looks a decent prospect for his first race win over 7 furlongs. However, he’s also lacking in the value department trading a touch higher than the favourite and inviting an all-or-nothing back bet.
Poet Master won a Group 2 race in Ireland over 7 furlongs in July, adding that to another win achieved at Newmarket in April. He had an indifferent run at Haydock in May, but with a previous Group 2 win over 7 furlongs to his credit and a price of 11/2 he looks the best option in this field.

The Park Stakes is one of the newer races run at the St Leger Festival, having first been run in 1978. It has since gone through two promotions in status, achieving Group 3 status in 1986 before being bumped up to Group 2 status in 2004.
