About the Windsor Castle Stakes

The Windsor Castle Stakes is a 5 furlong Listed sprint for juveniles, run annually at the Royal Ascot meeting. The race attracts juvenile sprinters with average ratings, and has produced only one famous alumni, in Golden Pharaoh.

Betting on the Windsor Castle Stakes

Like most juvenile races, the Windsor Castle Stakes is very difficult to call accurately, although the market sometimes makes a good effort of sorting the genuine contenders from the no-hopers. That said, it’s not unusual for horses priced at 100/1 to find the places. Backing long shot entries each way is therefore one way to bet in this race, or you can put money behind higher rated horses priced in the 5/1 to 20/1 margin.
