What Is Final One Standing?
Final One Standing is a free-to-play prediction game in which registered William Hill customers pick one team per round to win their match. Get it right and you advance. Get it wrong and you’re out. The last player standing — or players, if more than one makes it through all 12 rounds — wins a share of the jackpot.
The WC 2026 edition runs the full length of the tournament, from the Group Stage all the way through to the Final in July, giving players 12 rounds of selections and months of involvement.

Pick Reset Rules — Important
Your pool of available teams isn’t fixed for the entire tournament. Selections reset at two points:
- After Round 7: all teams still in the World Cup become available again for Rounds 8–10
- After Round 10: all remaining teams become available again for Rounds 11 and 12
This means smart players can save strong teams for later rounds rather than burning them early. Plan ahead.
What Happens in Edge Cases?
Postponed matches: If your selected team’s match is postponed before the next Round begins, you automatically advance. However, that team is still counted as used and cannot be selected again in the same cycle.
Tournament end scenarios: The game concludes when either a single player remains after a round, all remaining players are eliminated in the same round, or two or more players complete all 12 rounds without a wrong pick. In all cases, the £250,000 jackpot is distributed among the qualifying players.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is William Hill’s Final One Standing?
It’s a free-to-play prediction game running alongside the 2026 WC. Players pick one team per round to win their match. Survive all 12 rounds and you’re in line for a share of the £250,000 jackpot.
Does it cost anything to enter?
No. Entry is completely free. No deposit, no stake, no qualifying bet required.
When does entry close?
You must join and make your first selection by 20:00 UK Time on Saturday 13th June 2026. You cannot enter after this deadline.
Can I enter if I’m not based in the UK?
The promotion is open to registered William Hill customers residing in the UK or Ireland only.
How does picking work in the Group Stage versus the knockouts?
During the Group Stage (Rounds 1–5), your selected team must win their match outright. A draw is treated the same as a loss — you’ll be eliminated. In the knockout rounds (Rounds 6–12), your team simply needs to progress, whether that’s through a win in 90 minutes, extra time, or a penalty shootout.
Can I pick the same team more than once?
Not within the same selection cycle. During Rounds 1–7, each team can only be used once. Picks reset after Round 7, so all surviving teams become available again for Rounds 8–10. They reset once more after Round 10 for Rounds 11 and 12.
What happens if I forget to make my pick before the deadline?
If you miss the selection deadline for any round, you are automatically eliminated from the Tournament. Make sure to set a reminder ahead of each round’s closing time.
Can I change my pick after submitting?
Yes — you can amend your selection at any time before the round’s deadline. Once that window closes, your pick is locked in.
What if my selected team’s match is postponed?
You will automatically advance to the next round. However, that team is still marked as used in your selection history and cannot be picked again in the same cycle.
What happens if everyone still in the game picks incorrectly in the same round?
All remaining players share the £250,000 jackpot equally. Players eliminated in earlier rounds are not eligible.
How and when is the prize paid?
Winnings are paid in cash and credited to your William Hill main account balance within 48 hours of the Tournament concluding. Irish customers receive their payment in euros at the GBP/EUR rate applicable at the time of processing.
Is this the same as a free bet offer?
No. Final One Standing is a standalone free-to-play game, entirely separate from any free bet or sign-up promotion. You don’t need to place a bet to participate.
