About the Ribblesdale Stakes

The Ribblesdale Stakes is a 1 mile 4 furlong race for 3-year-old fillies. Despite its Group 3 status the Ribblesdale Stakes is one of the richer races run at Royal Ascot, and pays out the biggest purse of any race for fillies and mares at the meeting. This attracts fairly strong fields, and a couple of winners have gone on to victory in major Group 1 races later in their careers.

Betting on the Ribblesdale Stakes

Don’t be swayed by the betting markets for the Ribblesdale Stakes. The race tends to produce very strong favourites, often close to Evens, and these rarely produce the goods on race day. Better value can be found in backing horses in the 10/1 – 20/1 margin with respectable form and ratings each-way as these have a knack for finding the places and win the race as often as the favourite.
