About the Albany Stakes

The Albany Stakes is a Group 3 race for juvenile fillies. The race is run over a distance of 6 furlongs on the Ascot straight course. Like many of the lower rated Royal Ascot races it attracts fairly strong fields, and a couple of recent winners have gone on to victory in Group 1 races for 2-year-olds later in the season.

Betting on the Albany Stakes

The Albany Stakes is perhaps the most open of the Group races run at Royal Ascot. The antepost markets tend to produce strong favourites, often close to Evens, who have a poor record in the race. It is far more common to find horses over the price of 10/1 taking the win, while higher rated racehorses settle for places. So look out for horses with potential in this race rather than just focusing on horses with top ratings and recent wins.
